‘Good drawing and draughtsmanship are central to all my work in whatever medium, style or content.
I’m not saying that I want my work to be accurate like an anatomical drawing or painting. Of greater importance to me is the expression of ideas and emotions that are true and connect with an audience.’
She started her formal art training at Jacob Kramer College( now Leeds Arts University) where she gained a distinction.
She has a Fine Art degree from Trent University, Nottingham and a PGCE in Art and Design from Reading University
Chris has taught art and design extensively throughout her career and is currently teaching drawing and mono printmaking techniques at Leeds Print Workshop, an independent print co-operative.www.leedsprintworkshop.org
Since 2017 Chris has practised professionally as an artist, exhibiting her work in Yorkshire and London. She has work in private collections in the U.S.A. Australia and Europe.
Chris is represented in the north of England by Bils and Rye Contemporary Gallery, Harrogate, N, Yorkshire.
