This portrait is from a collection inspired by Strong Women and pays tribute to the 17th century French playwright and political activist, Olympe de Gouges.
Chris’ paintings develop from a range of sources such as photography, fashion imagery and art historical references.
Her methods of working are both traditional and contemporary. She loves to use her iPad as a sketchbook and as a means of collecting and working out ideas. When transferred to the canvas she prefers the lusciousness and ease of working with oil paint. Her style is economical so that only those things deemed essential are brought to the fore in the composition.
