The Casanova studies

It was during lockdown in 2021 that I was first inspired to work from some of the fabulous dance photographs taken of Northern Ballet  productions and when I engaged in an online conversation  with principal dancer, Hannah Bateman. This led to an amazing opportunity in February 2022 to  attend Northern Ballet studios, just a five minute walk from my studio in Leeds to observe first hand the dancers as they rehearsed  for their forthcoming production, ’Casanova’ produced by choreographer, Kenneth Tindall.

The final works resulting from this collaboration were then displayed in a solo exhibition, ‘Dance, Joy, Connect’ at ‘Coles Gallery’ in the Leeds Corn Exchange which ran concurrently with the Casanova production by Northern Ballet at Leeds Grand Theatre, from Thursday 10th March until the first week in April 2022.

The above images include paintings, prints and iPad drawings which I made in

Emma  Kauldhar.
